Unit Tracking
The movement of Non-Bulk Product will normally involve the use of a form of Carrying Unit,
e.g. Pallets, Barrels, Kegs, Cages etc. Pallets, for example, will often be owned by an external company such
as CHEP, so the accurate tracking of their movements/whereabouts is very important. Otherwise lost/destroyed
pallets will be an expensive overhead.
The Unit Tracking Module allows the recording of Unit stock levels at your own Depots, at Customer
Locations and at Sub-Contractor Haulier sites. The module also:-
- Records and Updates Balances at 2 stages:-
- At Load Despatch Time - Work In Transit Balances are updated at this time
in order to keep a record of the number of Units on the road that have not been confirmed as delivered
- At Load Completion Time - Actual Balances are updated at this time in order to record
the number of Units at physical sites. Work In Transit Balances are also updated at this time
as Units are no longer In Transit
- Allows recording of the Pallet Exchange Note (PEN). This Note accompanies the Load, is signed by
both the Customer and the Driver, and is normally confirmation that an equal number of Empty Units were
exchanged for the ones dropped at Customer site.
