Resource Allocation

After an order has been entered into the system, the next stage in haulage planning is to allocate resources (tractor, trailer and driver) to do the work.

The owner of a resource (subcontractor, agency, driver or yourself) is clearly visible on the Gantt. Visibilty of the owner enables a planner to easily see which resources should be used according to cost, the route or location selected and company or customer constraints.

In ESP, the primary resource can be set to be driver, unit or trailer. Against each primary resource, the following can easily be identified on the Gantt:-

Using Unit as the example

• Unit type; 32 Tonne, 38 Tonne, 44 Tonne, Rigid, Tank etc.
• Vehicle Registration / ID
• Owning Depot
