Load Consolidation

ESP supports flexible planning and all planning activity can be undertaken within this core module. For example, the ‘journey’ a load will undertake can be split into constituent legs, and various fleet items can be allocated across the legs of the journey. Thus, the collection of a load may be carried out by an entirely different vehicle to that for the delivery and, indeed, the trunk in between. Shipping, Rail and Air legs may also be recorded as part of the haulage plan. The Gantt based planning tool is designed for speedy planning and ease of use.

Once an order has been planned in ESP, it then moves along the order-life cycle within Enterprise Transport Management and interfaces with many other modules depending on the nature of the order and the technologies in use within the business.

Needless to say at any stage along the life cycle a user or customer (if the facility is offered to them) can view what the status of the order is. These statuses include :-

  • Booked - received but nothing yet done with order
  • Planned - routes and resources have been allocated
  • Despatched - order despatched
  • Completed - delivery confirmation received
  • Cancelled - order cancelled
  • Aborted - the job has been cancelled but some work (haulage) has already been done against the order
  • Rate Confirmed - all supplier rates against the job have been authorised
  • Authorised for Invoicing - dependent on customer SLA
  • Invoiced
  • Consolidate loads
  • Allocate resources
