Cross Docking
Cross Docking facilities are available within Enterprise
Transport Management as part of the Pallet Tracking and Scanning module. Any
barcoded consignment that arrives at a depot will go through the cross-docking process of being scanned in and
allocated to a loading bay for onward transit to the next network depot.
Any pallets that are ‘bad’ scans (either they shouldn’t be on the trailer or the barcode cannot be read)
will be directed to the error bay for manual sorting.
Scanning pallets in and out of a location speeds up the delivery process and provides a high degree of accuracy.
Cross Docking Summary:-
- All consignments can be scanned in and out of operational locations
- The cross docking operation gives complete traceability of consignments throughout the network whether
it be on board a trailer or on the floor of a warehouse.
